ZUMRA review by Ton Maas / de Volkskrant ****
Zangeres Amira verraste in 2004 met haar debuutalbum Rosa, waarop veel sevdalinka, de meest weemoedige vorm van de sevdah, het Bosnische levenslied.

A debut album by a duo, Amira & Merima Ključo is released!
There are many different ways in which Balkan traditional music has been played and interpreted in recent years. Amira's and Merima Ključo’s approach to some of the traditional music standards on their debut album Zumra might be the most radical one so far. Standing at the extreme ends of two genres, this album is a challenge for the aficionados of both: equally for the fans of the Bosnian sevdah music, as for the connoisseurs of contemporary classical music, but also for anybody with a grain of musical curiosity; for anyone who would like to hear something different from the evermore stereotypical modes in which traditional and neo-traditional music is often played today.
